This afternoon My sister and I partook in setting a new record for most jugglers juggling at the same time.

Myself and another juggler posing for a local news photographer
We headed down to Olympic Plaza just before 2:00 to meet up with other jugglers that had been enticed down by the Calgary World Skills organization. As I suspected there were only about 15–20 people when we arrived. The event seemed poorly organized and under advertised so I didn’t go down with a vision of hundreds of Jugglers.
None the less we were setting a new record not try to break a previous one so we couldn’t fail. In the end about 94 people showed up and it was good fun juggling for an hour straight.

My Sister hadn’t juggled for a few years but it’s just like riding a bike
I got started juggling when I was quite young. My sister went to an elementary school that had a pretty heavy focus on the arts so she was always getting to do interesting things. One of these things included a juggler coming to her grade five class and teaching them all to juggle.
At the same school she was awarded a jester part in a play so she needed to learn to juggle consistently. This meant lots of practiced at home.
That summer I would have been about eight or nine and my sister taught my cousins and I how to juggle when it was too rainy to go outside. I quite enjoyed it and I’ve gone through phases of juggling fairly regularly since then.
It’s been a while since I’ve juggled much but today got me itching to dust off my fire clubs and learn some new tricks. There was also a very good contact juggler that convinced me to pick up a contact ball and give it a try.
