Just hopped back from Best Worst Movie. loved it!

Twenty years after TROLL 2 was dubbed the worst movie ever made by IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes, the feature length documentary BEST WORST MOVIE explores the phenomenon of TROLL 2 through the personal story of the cast of characters who took part in its creation, and through the stories from its dedicated fans worldwide.
In the summer of 1989, director Claudio Fragrasso cast small-town dentist Dr. George Hardy and a group of unwitting Utah actors in an ultra-low budget horror film, which eventually became the undisputed Worst Movie in History. Drawing on his experiences reconnecting with the TROLL 2 family, director Michael Stephenson reveals the story of an Alabama dentist-turned-cult-movie-luminary and an Italian filmmaker, as they both come to terms with cinematic failure. The result is a hilarious and tender off-beat journey, and a genuine homage to lovers of bad movies and the people that create them.

I love documentaries that explore strange pop culture phenomena’s and this flick certainly falls into that category. Half the people interviewed in this movie are as crazy and entertaining as any character you could dream up.
The movie focuses on George Hardy who may be one of the friendliest men on the planet and he really helps drive the film by keeping things light and upbeat all the way through. However, the gold in this documentary lies in interviews with some of the very strange people involved in Troll 2. For example one actor explains that he was in a mental institute during the making of troll 2 and he was out on day passes to be in the film. He says he was so high he had no idea what was going on while he was on set.
I thourghly enjoyed interviews with director Claudio Fragrasso. This Italian man truly believes he created a great film. His wife also wrote the script and she tells us her inspiration for the story comes from the fact that many of her friends were becoming vegetarians at the time and that “pissed her off”. Hilarious!
The only negative comment I have is that the sudden drop in pacing in the last 20 minutes make for a bit of an anti-climatic ending. Nothing that should keep you from enjoying the movie, it just doesn’t end with the same energy as it starts.
